What is an EV Ready Plan?
An EV Ready Plan is a professional strategy that shows how your building can provide at least one EV Ready parking space per residential unit.
An EV Ready parking space includes a termination point (like a junction box or outlet) within five metres of the stall—allowing residents to easily install a Level 2 EV charger when they need it.
Is an EV Ready Plan Required?
Yes. If you want to apply for BC Hydro’s EV Ready infrastructure rebate or EV charger rebate, an EV Ready Plan is required. It’s not a legal requirement for existing buildings, but it’s essential if you want to access rebate funding.
Who Prepares the Plan?
Your EV Ready Plan must be created by a licensed electrical contractor or a professional electrical engineer to qualify.
Why Start Now?
With an EV Ready Plan in place, you can expect to save on future retrofitting costs, prepare your building for rising EV demand and increase property value.
