ChargeOn Funding Announcement 2025

The Government of Ontario has announced a $92 million increase in funding for its ChargeON Program, raising the total budget to more than $180 million. The goal is clear: build more public EV charging stations, reduce range anxiety, and improve EV charging access—especially in underserved areas across the province.

What is the ChargeON Program?

Launched as part of Ontario’s broader transportation modernization strategy, the ChargeON Ontario rebate program is designed to accelerate the development of a reliable and affordable public EV charging network. The initiative supports the rising number of EV drivers by reducing range anxiety and  aims to fill EV charging gaps in underserved areas.

ChargeON Program Goals

The ChargeON Program is focused on three key objectives:

  1. Expanding public EV charging access in underserved and rural areas
  2. Reducing range anxiety for EV drivers by improving charging station availability
  3. Building a reliable and affordable public charging network across Ontario
