Canada Announces EV Charger Incentive Program With Limited-time Funding

Written by Isaac Klein | Jun 17, 2025

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is making a strong push to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle charging stations across Canada with its newly announced EV Charger Incentive Program— offering a total of $1M in funding.

Funded by NRCan and administered by Green Economy Canada, the EV Charger Incentive Program aims to make EV charging infrastructure more affordable for condos, businesses, Indigenous communities and other organizations to install Level 2 or Level 3 charging stations.

This announcement comes at a crucial time. With the federal ZEV Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) currently paused, many businesses and properties were unsure where to turn for financial support. The EV Charger Incentive Program aims to fill that gap by offering a limited-time funding stream on a first come first served basis, with a focus on Ontario applications.

Applications for this program open on June 23, 2025 for 30 days only.
